![]() FAQ's What is a polarizing device or filter? Light, which reflects off surfaces such as pavement, water, snow and automobiles produces reflections commonly known as "glare". To filter out this glare, a polarizer is used; such as in special lenses for high quality sunglasses, ski goggles and camera filters. We did not invent the polarizer, but as far as we know, PolaVisor® is the first, perhaps the only, anti-glare automotive visor with a polarized filter available! We like to hear from you if you know of any other automotive visor with a polarized filter. What is the difference between PolaVisor® and other automotive visors? Removable anti-glare visors for automotive have been around for a long time. In fact, there are many different kinds available on the market. The problem is none of them can reduce dangerous glare efficiently. From appearance, PolaVisor® looks like other visors; but the lens material of PolaVisor® is totally different with much superior quality. Lens of PolaVisor® is polarized. Polarizer has been proven to be the best way to reduce reflected glare. Lenses of other visors are made with colored plastics sheets. How is PolaVisor® constructed? The PolaVisor® consists of a thin polarizing film laminated between two pieces of high quality, acrylic lens material. The material is similar to that used in expensive polarizing sunglasses. Who will benefit by using PolaVisor®? Everyone! Drivers who wear eye glasses with prescription lenses and those who do not wear sunglasses will particularly benefit. We do not recommend this because the glare caused by car headlights is different from glare caused by sunlight.
